The Weekend in Review

The weekend really started on Thursday. Momma and poppa took me to the arts walk downtown. First, we went to the library, and Geoffrey, Winona, and Dave were there! I think momma planned it that way as a surprise for me! Geoffrey and I made a jumping jack-o-lantern craft while my momma and poppa, and Winona and Dave took turns making sugar skulls to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead.
After we finished our craft, we went to the Metropolitan Museum across the street. We went to the nature lab, and got to hold bugs, and look at tree frogs. In the gallery next door, they were having a Day of the Dead exhibit. When we went to the gift shop, Geoffrey bought me a gummy skeleton out of his own allowance! I thought that was really nice!

We had a good time, listening to music, and looking at the art, but I was hungry and thirsty, so we all went to a coffee house that Geoffrey's daddy works at. Momma and daddy got us stuffed croissants to eat. While we were eating and enjoying the music, all of the lights went out!!! I was scared for a second, but pretty soon, I noticed that people had lights on their laptops and phones, and it wasn't so scary anymore, it was actually kinda cool.

After the coffeehouse, we walked to an art gallery, and explored the building, which is REALLY old. We listened to a jazz band, and then we all went on the roof to look at the night sky. I pointed the full moon out to everyone!

We had a great time!

Friday, right after grandma and grandpa took momma and I to Goodwill and Pick Up Stiks, we went back with daddy! I never get sick of rice and soy sauce!

Saturday, momma and daddy took me to a cultural festival at the museum. I got a passport with my picture, and I had to go to a lot of different booths and answer questions in the passport. I got to make really cool crafts, and ate all kinds breads from different countries! The people at the booth for Mexico gave me hot chocolate and sweet bread, and let me take a book that children use in their school back in Mexico. I made an origami dog puppet, a Scandinavian painted horse magnet, and had my name written in Hebrew!
Geoffrey and his dad met us there, so the day was even better! We listened to a great storyteller. I tried different kinds of food, and even if it looked yucky, I still took a bite.

There was a booth where the people were giving free plates of Indian food! Momma and daddy were so surprised because I gobbled down the rice and beans and even the flatbread.
Daddy took me and Geoffrey to watch an Irish dance troop perform. The dancers were so beautiful! Grandma would have loved to see it, but I took pictures for her!
