MEET OUR STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER...

WOW, Today is Friday September 29th....

Today is an exciting day for all of us, it is the awards day...Timothy (Uncle Min Min to Zoe) is going to surprise Zoe at the awards assembly...

Grandma: so, we come to school and to get the the auditorium, you have to pass thru the cafeteria, and who is at the first table eating her lunch, but our own Zoe...and the only person she was ecstatic to see was Tim...she wanted him to sit at the table with her to finish her lunch...btw, lunch was a pizza lunchable that Grandma bought her...

Zoe: I was so surprised to see Min Min, I did not know he was coming to my school...I wanted Min Min to sit with me while I ate my lunch, but I think he was too shy...

Grandma; it was nice to see Zoe get her award, she was the first child called up, and she stood there very nicely, while the other names were called...we are all very proud of her...
the one thing that really tugged at my heart, was that while all the classes were going back to their rooms, they passed in front of us, Zoe was sitting on my lap, and as our classroom passed us, many of these little kindergarteners (with no jealousy, or anything) they came up to Zoe and gave her a high 5 and said, "good job Zoe!!!" I thought that was so cool...then, Rose told Malik to move so that Zoe could get into line inbetween them...it is so cute for little Rose to tell big Malik to move and he did it...LOL...

Zoe: I had such a good day today, first I got the award...then, I got some presents for being a good girl...Min Min gave me a hair set that has nice barrettes in it, and Grandma gave me a jewelry set...Mommy and Daddy took me out to lunch at the hamburger place, but I had chicken nuggets with gravy (ranch dressing)...then, Grandpa and me went out on another date...we went to the movies and saw Open Season, it is such a great movie...I really liked it and Grandpa laughed...we ate popcorn and had an icee.

I got a green TICKET today...

tomorrow Mommy is having a garage sale...

Today is Thursday, September 28th...

Grandma says: I cannot believe September is almost gone, and Halloween will be here very soon...I just got home from walking Zoe to school and could not wait to put up the pictures that Zoe took of her friends...
Out of all of the girls in her class, 3 are usually very clingy in the morning, Cailey, Zoe and Gaby...Rose is also sometimes...but today not one of the girls was...Cailey was the first in line before the whistle actually went off and Zoe gets in line and just says, "bye Grandma..." Then I say, "bye..." but, she was already in the room and did not hear me...Mrs. Lugenbill even told her that I said goodbye, and she was ready to start her day...I am proud of her for being a big girl, but, it also tugs at my heart strings that she is growing up so fast...
What I find amazing is that on the playground in the morning, little girls from other classes seem to know each other, and especially by name...it is so cute when a little girl from another class, will come up and say, "hi Zoe, want to play..." I will say to Zoe, "who is that?" Usually before Zoe can answer, the other child will tell me what her name is...today, it was Myla who came up, and
surprisingly, she lives at the end of our block...
I always told everyone that no kids lived on our block, and now come to find out, there are 5 kindergarteners that live on Elmwood Court, 3 that are actually in Zoe's class...

Mrs Lugenbill liked her pumpkins, and that made Zoe happy...

Zoe says; I ate lunch in the cafeteria, and it was supposed to be pizza, but it was chicken, so I didn't eat..Grandma always wondered why I was sooooo hungry, when I got home, now she knows why...I like to the 1st on the playground, so I don't always eat my lunch, even if I like what I have....

I got a green ticket today...
today, after dinner, Grandma took me for a walk and I got to see Myla's house and we went by Nicholas' house too...

Today is Wednesday September 27th, 2006...

See in the picture of me, I am holding a purple thing??? Guess what it is??? I got a diary, and it
really locks with a real key...Daddy got it for me at Castle Park last night...We had a good time playing the games, and then we went to McDonald"s and they have Little Mermaid toys in the happy meals...I got a necklace, it is so pretty...

Today was a good day at school, even though we had a little problem...the teacher said that Kyle and me were talking too much, but I still got a green ticket, and she only had to warn me one time..

This morning I got in line all by myself, and did not need Grandma to walk me to line and hold my hand...Grandma said that she was proud of me...

After school, Grandma, Grandpa and me went out to lunch and I got a hot dog and fries and then we went to the store and I got a PUMPKIN...I am so excited for Halloween...I got my teacher 2
pumpkins, I got her one that is white and one that is orange...I hope that she likes them...

Mommy does not feel good, and I helped take care of her...after our nap, I was singing songs that I learned in school to make her feel better....Mommy and Grandma really liked my songs and my poems...

Grandma said that I can buy my lunch, cause they are having pizza...I never buy lunch, cause I don't always like what they are having...today I had croutons and ranch in my lunch, YUMMY...

See you tomorrow...

Today is Tuesday September the 26th...

We got exciting news at school this morning when Grandma and Sian went to pick up Zoe...she has been selected to receive an award at an assembly on Friday...We are so proud of our little girl...Zoe said that one boy and one girl was selected to get an award...We are so looking forward to Friday...

Zoe was extremely clingy this morning, think tomorrow on our walk we will talk about what this might be attributed to and see if I can help with any fears she might have...

After kindergarten, we went to Mommy's work, and I got to see Mrs. Sherman, and she was happy that I am getting an award and she said she was proud of me...she made her new class all say and spell my name...I like seeing my old school...

After nap., when Daddy comes home, he and I are going to Castle Park, it will be so much fun...

Do you like my fairy princess overalls??? Grandma, of course made them for me, she even put a fairy pony holder in my hair...all of my friends liked my hair today...I played with Juliette and CAiley today..

Today was treasure chest day, and I got a roll of butterfly stickers, they are so cute...Sian wanted one when she saw them...

Monday, September 25, 2006

Today is Monday September 25th, and Zoe has been going to school for 5 weeks now...can you really believe that??? boy, time is just going by so quickly...Zoe coughed all night long, she along with her classmates, have "THE KINDERGARTEN COUGH!" but, once she gets to school, she seems all right, in the morning before line up, she was chasing all of the boys with Carla...Gaby did not come to school today, maybe she also has the same cough...Zoe missed her today...once again, she did not want Grandma to leave her, she gets extremely clingy once the whistle goes off and all of the kids are supposed to freeze before walking to their line...Cailey was also very clingy this morning...
just wanted to say that as Zoe's grandma, it is so hard for me to get up soooooooo early in the morning, I just cannot see how kindergarteners have to be there by 7:30 in the morning...but, I made a commitment to walk Zoe to school each morning, and after I finally am up, once I see that cute little face, it is not so bad...the walk to school is a fun time for her and me, and we have a great time looking at leaves and naming dogs and kitties...I get to hear things from her, that I normally might not hear, and just spending alone time with her is extremely precious, I love this little girl sooooo much, and my heart just does flips, when her little hand goes to mine to be held...I think we are making some really good memories and that makes getting up at 6:30 all the worthwhile...I also love sitting with her outside her classroom waiting for line up and I get to see how she reacts to all of her little friends, and how well they all get along, etc...it just makes my day to watch her...it is so cute, when she gives her teacher flowers that she has picked for her...today, Zoe even gave Mrs. Nelson (the teacher next door to Zoe's class) a bunch of flowers and Mrs. Nelson made a big deal of it...it was cute...Zoe is a very giving child and loves to please people...she gave Gopa (a boy in her class) a clay pumpkin that she had made...the look on her face, when he liked it, was priceless...

do we need to guess what color ticket she got today????? GREEN OF COURSE...

after school, had to go to Ralphs and Zoe wanted some spongebob popscicles...she loves looking at the lobsters, and right by the lobsters was a kid from her class, named Jessie...

color to wear this friday is GREEN...we will have to see what she has that is green...

outfit that she wore today, I am so surprised that she can still wear, is a size 3...cute little sunflower sundress and capris that Grandma made her 2 years ago...

After my nap, I got to play outside in my sandbox and I got to swing...it was fun...then Grandma took me out front and let me ride my bike, and I rode all the way to Lauren's house, but she wasn't home...Mark wasn't home either...

Nikki let me help her make brownies, and I licked the bowl...

Grandma was talking to me about my birthday and here is my wish list so far:
1. littlest pet shop small video game
2. 12 princesses dvd with barbie
3. a small stuffed monkey that has a banana bottle
4. a real bird

5. my little pony dancing recital
6. the new tinkerbell toys

Grandma made my dinner and let me watch tv at her house and we listened to Irish songs...my favorite is the one about the unicorn...

Good Night....

My Day At Knott's Berry Farm

A very cool car!

I panned for gold.

We played in the Boot Hill graveyard.

Panning is HARD WORK!

Me and Snoopy!

Driving a truck!

Riding Lucy's Tugboat was scary, but fun!

Me and daddy.

Daddy's work had a company picnic at Knott's Berry Farm on Saturday! We got to ride the rides, I even rode the Log Ride TWO times! I ate a lot of junk food, but I think my favorite was dippin' dots. We looked EVERYWHERE for cotton candy, and we finally found the one place in the whole park that sold it, but it was CLOSED. It was okay, though, because we had a great time.

After we left the park, we went to the picnic to eat. I tried salad with ranch dressing, but I did not like it.I really wanted to try the boysenberry pie, but it was not that great. I made a new friend named Emily, and we played while the other mommies and daddies ate too much.

We had a good time, but it was good to get home, and go to sleep in my bed. I was tired!

Today is Friday, September 22nd...Zoe has been going to school for one month now, that is really hard to believe...one month is already gone...she loves school, even tho she wants grandma to walk her into the classroom each day...she gets shy once they are supposed to line up...her teacher thinks that because Gaby does it also, they are learning this from each other...

Today is yellow day, each Friday the teacher picks a different color and for homework, you are supposed to wear that color...Grandma did not think I had anything yellow, so she was going to make me something, but she did not feel good...then, she remembered that she bought me a yellow Naartjie outfit, so that is what I wore...all the kids don't remember to wear yellow...
Last night I made my own lunch, and when I got to school, I showed my teacher that I did it myself, even tho I put a lot of crackers in my lunch box...I love my lunch box that Mrs. Sherman gave to me...Rose lost her lunch box, but her mommy finally found it in the cafeteria...

What color do you think I got today???

Grandma brought Sian to kindergarten with her, and Sian just walked in and found me and sat in a chair beside me...Mrs. Luginbill thought that was cute...
that is a picture that I took of me and my friend Carla...Carla likes my Grandma and always sits beside her...

I am glad today is Friday, cause tomorrow is Knott's and I cannot wait to see Snoopy...

When we came home from school, Grandma fed me and Sian and then took us outside to play...it was pretty good, except Sian hit me on the head with a shovel...I picked some flowers and Grandma told me that they were named Marigolds, they are pretty, but smell kind of bad...

KIDS SAY THE FUNNIEST THINGS; AFTER I HAD TOLD ZOE WHAT THE FLOWERS WERE NAMED, SHE TOOK HER NAP AND THEN LATER IN THE EVENING, SHE PICKED ANOTHER ONE, AND I SAID, "WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE FLOWER?" AND SHE REPLIED, "IT IS A GOLDEN RETRIEVOR..." I THOUGHT THAT WAS CUTE, AS WE ARE ALSO LEARNING DOG NAMES...
THEN, I ASKED ZOE WHAT SHE WAS HAVING FOR DINNER, AND SHE SAID, "DADDY MADE SOMETHING REAL YUCCY..." AND I ASKED WHAT IT WAS??? SHE SAID, "IT IS YUCCY CHICKEN, MADE FROM A COW..." I THOUGHT THAT WAS PRETTY CUTE...

Grandma made me a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner, and then let me have a bath at her house, the bath was so nice...I usually take a shower...but, I played a long time in the tub...then I played with my kitties...

See you tomorrow after Knotts...

Today is Thursday, we are learning the days of the week at school...I am excited about Saturday, cause it is Daddy's picnic at Knott's Berry Farm...I cannot wait to see Camp Snoopy...

Ticket color was green today...I try very hard to get green every day...I sure don't want a yellow or red ticket...

This morning Isabelle, the girl that pulled up my dress, when we were in line, she was touching my barrettes and the teacher told her to keep her hands to herself...I was chasing Kyle all around the playground this morning, Rose was helping me...We like to touch him and then he starts to chase us...

I did not eat my lunch today, cause I want to be the first out on the playground, but when Grandma came to get me, I was hungry, so we went to McDonalds for lunch at Wal Mart...we got to see all of the Halloween stuff and a big scary monster scared me that was standing at the doors of Wal Mart...I jumped, and screamed cause I thought he was just a statue and he wasn't...
Grandma and I looked at toys to see what I want for my birthday, cause it is pretty soon... I keep seeing so many things that I want...we saw Barbies and Bratz, and the Dora house...there is so many things, I cannot make up my mind...I also like that little pixel thing that you can draw on...

When Daddy came home, he took me to Cold Stone for ice cream...they were having a special thing, where if you went and bought ice cream, they would give some money to our school for things we need...it was fun...we sat with Eero's mom to eat...

I did my homework when we got home and ate my dinner...Grandma said that when I was done with my homework, to call her and I could go over to her house...so, I called and she did not answer and a man on the phone told me to leave a message, and I started to cry cause I do not know how to leave a message...(actually she got our answering machine) but, Grandma came and got me anyway...so, I had a lot of fun playing with my kitties...I put one of them in my cinderella coach and pulled it around...

the dress I wore today, Grandma made me for when I was in the Lucky Ladybug classroom, and eveyone at kindergarten liked it...they thought I looked like a ladybug...

I went to bed like a good girl tonight...

see ya tomorrow...yeah, when I wake up tomorrow, it is Knott's...

Today is wednesday...

Today Grandpa took me to school and picked me up, cause Grandma had a headache...When I got home from school, I got to go to Mommy's work, but, I got to see all of my old teachers and I help Mommy get her work done...

I got another green ticket, so next week I will get to go to the treasure chest again...

The dress that I wore today is the one Grandma made when she went to Canada...

After my nap, I played with my doll house outside for a long time, and then Grandma felt better, and watched me while I rode my bike out front...then, Mark came outside so Grandma took me over to his house and I played with him for a little while...I love his baby sister, she is so cute...

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

Today is Tuesday...

I had a good day except for one thing...this girl, first she pinched my nose, and then she lifted up my skirt and the boys laughed when they saw my panties...Liam went and told the teacher on her for what she did to me...

Guess what color ticket I got today??? When mommy came home from work, I tricked her and told her that I got a yellow ticket and that would not be good...

Gaby said that she is going to go back to karate, so maybe I will too...

The color to wear this Friday is yellow, I don't know if I have anything yellow to wear...

I told Mommy that I want a cocker spaniel puppy for my birthday...

Do you like my new lunch bag??? Mrs. Sherman (my pre K teacher) gave it to me, and I love it...

Today is the start of the one month marker...

I as Zoe's grandma, cannot believe it has been one month already...our little girl is growing up...

Today was a good day today, I was a good girl, like always at school and I got another green ticket...I got to go in the treasure chest for having 5 tickets and I got a glitter stick, now I have 2 of them...yeah...I played with Gaby and with Rose...after school I was running and playing around with Cailey...wow, I have lots of friends...

After school, I stayed at grandma's house, cause mommy had a meeting at work...grandma, grandpa and me went to Carl's jr for chicken nuggets and fries...it was really hot, but grandma still let me play in the playground...then, we went home and watched movies till mommy got home...and I played with the baby kitties...

When Daddy got home from work, he took me to karate class...at first I was scared, cause I thought they would make us chop stacks of wood, but they didn't...it was kind of boring cause they just talked about paying attention...Gaby was there too, but I don't think she had fun either...

GUESS WHAT???

Grandpa and I went out on a real date...we went to the movies, just him and me...we saw "Everybody's Hero..." we had a real good time, the movie was so good, especially the part when the ball falls down the stairs and the ball says, "ooh my head, my butt..." everybody laughed...it was so funny...

We ate popcorn, and candy and he bought me an icee...

Hope we go out on another date real soon...

I love you grandpa...

Today is also Daddy's birthday, I don't know how old he is though...he went with his friend to the route 66 car show...when I got home from the movies I helped Daddy make a chocolate dessert for dinner...

FRIDAY! At last!

Today was "blue" day at school. Each week, our teacher picks a color for us to learn about, and on Friday we have to wear something that is that color.

My friend Rose and I had a grand time playing together today. Grandma and momma think that we are going to have to have Rose over very soon to play.

Because I turned my homework in on time today, I got to pick a prize from the treasure chest. I picked a sparkly glitter glue pen!

I have already started my homework, and it is not even due until next Friday! I like learning new things.

I earned another green ticket today. I only need one more to visit the treasure chest again!

every day this week, I have gotten to go to mommy's work after I got out of kindergarten...it is so nice to see my old preschool teachers that I love so much especially Mrs. Sherman...I love Mrs. Sherman just as much as I love my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Lugenbill...I even helped the cute kitten teacher Miss Erdman that I had when I was 4...she let me help her pick up blocks off the floor...

Thursday
I had a good day today. When I got home from school today, I rode my bike up to momma's work with grandma. Of course, I was too tired to ride it home, so momma and grandma had to carry it for me.
When daddy got home from work, we played outside together, and then momma and grandma came out and watched me play some more. I finished up my homework, and momma and daddy read stories to me.
I have gotten green tickets all week so far!

Wednesday!
Today, momma got to walk me into school! I still wanted some extra hugs, but I was okay. I had to take Peace back. Hopefully, I will get her again soon.
Grandma could not pick me up, so I had to go over to Gaby's after school. Gaby's house is right behind momma's school, so momma came to get me after she was done.
We had to walk home, which I do not like to do, but we made it home in no time flat.

Tuesday!
Today's ensemble was a collaboration between grandma, daddy, and momma. Grandma made the outfit, daddy; the shoes, and momma; the bow. Momma thinks it is her most favorite outfit EVER.
Peace got to spend the night with us last night. We had lots of fun! She watched cartoons with me! People kept saying that Peace matched my outfit.
I walked to school with Grandma again, but this time momma forgot to answer the phone, so I was a little upset. I needed extra hugs before I went into class.
After school, grandma, Sian, and I went to momma's school to visit, and I helped her clean up.

Monday! The start of WEEK THREE!
Mondays are a little tough for me. First off, momma officially started work today, so grandma walked me to school in the wagon. I helped grandma remember the way to go. When I got to school, I called momma at home and told her I loved her before I went into class.
The day turned out better than I thought. I earned another green ticket, so I got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest. I picked a deck of playing cards out. The deck is really small, just my size!
Then, I found out that I would be able to take home our class mascot, a tie dyed bear named Peace! I was so excited! I get to keep Peace for two whole days. I am the second person in class to get her.

Kitties, Kitties Everywhere!

Our kitty had SIX kittens! They are three weeks old now, and are starting to play with me. They are a lot of fun. I think we are going to keep one. We call him Moco because he has a birthmark on his nose.

This has been a pretty good weekend. We have had a barbeque, and painted crafts, and had a good time.

End of Week TWO!

(wanna hug?)

Grandma made another fantastic creation! It has red and white polka dots (momma's favorite) and scotty dogs on the fabrics. Momma made the bow for me and it matched perfectly.

I had a good day at school today. I got to go see momma and my pre-k teacher, Mrs. Sherman at my old school! It was nice to see everyone again. I gave all of the teachers there hugs.

Momma and I went on a shopping trip with grandma and grandpa. Momma was trying to put my shoes on in the car and I told her, "Momma! You cannot take my foot off! It's glued to my bones!" Everyone laughed at me.

I told momma and grandma that I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up. I want to work with farm animals, though.

Today's ticket color: green! 4 down, 1 to go!

BIG NEWS!

I learned how to tie my shoes! Daddy and momma thought it might take a while for me to learn, but they showed me a couple of times, and I got it! I can even double knot all by myself! I am pretty proud of myself, and I am happy to demonstrate my shoe tying expertise to anyone willing to watch!

When I got home from school today, momma and I read a book, and I had to finish my homework to turn in on Friday. I did a really good job and did not complain or anything!

Today's ticket color:green! GOOD JOB!

Picture Day at School!
Everyone was dressed up for picture day! I wore a really pretty dress. After school, I went over to Gaby's and we went swimming, and made paper bag puppets. We had a really good time.
Ticket color received:green! yay!

Start of the 2nd Week!
Today, it was tough for me to go back to school, because I had been with momma for three days straight. Momma had to walk me to the classroom door. I was okay after momma gave me a hug, and teacher said we were gonna have fun.
We started our ticket system today. There are three colors for the tickets. Green means you were good, listened to directions, and kept your hands to yourself. Yellow is a warning, and when you get a yellow ticket, your parents have to sign it. Red means you were BAD, and had to go to time out, and have a talk with the principal, Mr. C.
Once you get 5 green tickets, you can choose something out of the treasure chest.
I got a green ticket today! Yay! I hope I can remember to listen and be good.

(art work by Zoe)
The Weekend
We had a great long weekend. My friend Geoffrey came over with his mom and dad. We had barbequed hamburgers, and soy corndogs. We watched movies and played in the pool. It was so much fun. On Sunday, my "Uncle" Ramon came over. I cannot wait to go back to school!

End of the first week!

We made through our first week of kindergarten! I am really looking forward to the weekend. Three whole days off.
Gaby's mom says that she has this exact outfit at home, but will not wear it because she does not like it!

Days 4 and 5

I have been having a blast at school! Wednesday went well. Thursday, after school, it was Back to School Night. The P.T.A. had a taco feast. Momma had to eat and run, because she had Back to School Night at the school that she will be an aide at.
Daddy and grandma stayed for the parent meeting, and then we got to go to my class and meet with my teacher, Mrs. Lugenbill. My teacher is really pretty and so nice!
We got our first homework packet tonight. Momma thinks I already know most of the homework, but we will go over it again.
My teacher wants my momma, daddy, and grandma to read to me EVERYDAY. That's a good thing, because I love to listen to stories.

Day Three

Grandma made another great outfit for me. Daddy took the time to paint apples on my sneakers, and they turned out so good! Mommy has taken to making bows to match all of my outfits. This one has an apple on it. Lots of people that came to this school were from my preschool, and they remember me because of the clothes that grandma makes.

Today was a hot day, and I kept asking momma for her water bottle because I was THIRSTY!

Day Two

Grandma LOVES to sew, and always seems to make the greatest outfits for me! Today was a little more calmed down. Momma made me my lunch today- peanut butter sandwich, crackers, apple slices, and juice. YUM!

It has been too hot to play outside for recess, but that's okay, I just run momma ragged when we get home!HAHAHAHAHAHA!

MyFirst Day!

My grandma made my dress

Me and Gaby! My best friend.

Walking to class with grandma and daddy.

Me with a present for my teacher.

Waiting in line.

I had a good day. I was mad that we did not learn math, though! I told momma that I did not want to go back unless they were going to teach us math!
